Christchurch’s only private 24 hour emergency clinic closes again

Christchurch’s only private 24 hour emergency clinic has closed its doors new patients tonight.

In a short statement, The 24 Hour Surgery said it was currently at capacity, and was unable to accept new patients ahead of closure tonight.

“In emergency call 111 or go to ED at Christchurch hospital. For non emergency health advice call 0800 611 116.”

The message comes a day after the clinic said it was returning to 24 hour opening hours, 7 days a week from Sunday 28 January.

As first reported by Chris Lynch Media, the clinic has been plagued by ongoing staff shortages since July last year.
