Restoring law and order in Waimakariri

Restoring law and order in the Waimakariri District is up for discussion at a public meeting this weekend.

Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey will be hosting the meeting with National’s Police Spokesperson Hon Mark Mitchell as the guest speaker.

Doocey said law and order is one of the biggest issues facing residents of the Waimakariri electorate.

“There has been an unprecedented level of crime in the area from frequent home thefts to regular ramraids and an armed bank robbery,” Doocey said.

“I’ve worked hard with local residents to roll out community-led CCTV so communities can start to take back control but there is only so much we can do if we aren’t being supported enough by Government,” he said.

Mitchell will talk about what a National Government would do to reduce crime on our streets.

PUBLIC MEETING: Restoring Law and Order in Waimakariri. Sunday 10th September, 6.30pm, Rangiora RSA.
