One person seriously injured in Flaxton crash

A road between Kaiapoi and Rangiora was closed for some time last night following a crash.

Police said three vehicles on Lineside Road, Flaxton, were involved in the crash at around 6.40pm on Thursday.

A police spokesperson said the road was blocked for a time while emergency services attended but was cleared by 9pm.

A spokeswoman from Hato Hone St John said two ambulances and one operations manager responded to the scene.

“Our ambulance officers assessed one patient in a moderate condition at the scene and treated and transported one patient with serious injuries to Christchurch Hospital,” she said.
