A plane spotter has captured the moment an Emirates A380 was forced to abort its landing at Christchurch Airport.

Richard Brown filmed the video on Monday during gusty winds and posted it to the Canterbury Plane Spotters Facebook page.

David Delagarza was a passenger on the flight and said “it was quite bump” but the pilot’s second attempt was a lot less dramatic.

Despite high winds, most flights in and out of Christchurch Airport were running to schedule.
