Children’s Day

Children’s Day is back for 2024! This event is all about celebrating our tamariki (children), learning and having fun. Children’s Day is on from 11am – 3pm Sunday at Cuthberts Green, Shuttle Drive, and is completely free. The day will be packed with activities ranging from mini jeep rides, bumper boats, pony rides and bouncy castles. Food stalls will be available, but families are encouraged to bring along a picnic lunch and enjoy the live performances.

Christchurch Holi-Festival of Colours

Laugh, dance, play with colours and forget your worries at Holi this Saturday at Hagley Park. Holi 2024 will focus on building an understanding of different cultures in Christchurch through showcasing traditional performances, food, games and stories. Make sure to wear old clothes as the colour pay not wash out, wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting stained and bring cash. Please do not bring your own colours as the colours used are cornflour based, non-toxic, safe and cosmetic grade.

Climate Action Campus Ōtautahi March Market

Come and enjoy a diverse range of stalls and food vendors at the Climate Action Campus Ōtautahi March Market. The focus is on plants, fruit and veggies, flowers, sustainable and locally created products and crafts, delicious food and fun. The market will be held at the Climate Action Campus Ōtautahi, 150 Avonside Drive, from 10am – 2pm Saturday.

Japan Fiesta 2024

Come along to the captivating Japan Fiesta 2024 at Riccarton Racecourse. There’s a range of activities such as outdoor free anime movie screenings, manga exhibitions, cultural experiences, a local artist market, food stalls, cosplay café and more. Immerse yourself in the world of Japanese pop culture from 10am – 6pm Saturday, grab a ticket from $10 here.

Linwood Village Market

Check out the monthly Linwood Village Market at the Linwood Community Arts Centre car park this Saturday. Browse through a range of goodies, including crafts, books, plants, clothes and garage sale-type stalls. There will also be small fundraisers for local community projects. The market will be on from 10am – 1pm, the Arts Centre is located at 388 Worcester Street, more information here.
