Whale stranded in Christchurch

A whale has stranded off Redcliffs tonight.

Residents first spotted the whale at 8PM on Sunday.

It’s stranded off Moncks Bay.

Hundreds of people have crowded the coastal pathway to see the whale.

A Sumner Coastguard boat is observing, while officials on jet skis are accessing the whale.

A resident told Chris Lynch Media he took a drone up and discovered the whale was on its side.

Police are on Main road trying to move on those parked illegally.
