Two seriously injured in motorbike crash in Christchurch

Two people have been seriously injured in a motorbike crash in Christchurch.

The incident occurred on Hackthorne Rd in Cashmere around 5pm on Saturday, involving one motorcycle.

A St John spokeswoman said they responded with two ambulances to the scene.

“We assessed and treated two patients who were transported to Christchurch hospital in a serious condition.”

A police spokesman said their conditions improved over showing signs of stabilisation during the night.

Traffic management was in place at the scene. 

Police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash
