Three people seriously injured in Christchurch crash

Emergency services are attending a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Brougham Street and Opawa Road.

Police were notified of the crash at 8.20pm.

A police spokesperson told Chris Lynch Media initial indications suggest three people have been seriously injured.

An eyewitness said a car looked as if it had hit a traffic light and it had been crushed.

The road is currently partially blocked. One lane is open, and traffic is moving slowly.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use an alternate route.
