St Thomas of Canterbury College wins national tournament

St Thomas of Canterbury College has won the Rugby League Secondary schools National Tournament over the weekend.

It’s the first time a South Island team has won since 2000.

The final came down to St Pauls Auckland and St Thomas on Sunday at Pullman Park in Auckland.

Amid the spirited competition, Haeata School also showcased its prowess in the tournament.

A parent beaming with pride shared with Chris Lynch Media, "Haeata School was there competing at the national level, and they showed tremendous support for our boys during the final match."

Adding to the accolades for St. Thomas of Canterbury College, several students have been selected for the prestigious 2023 New Zealand Schools Boys Squad.
