Pro-Israel rally takes place in Christchurch

A pro-Israel peace march has taken place in central Christchurch, a day after a pro-Palestine rally.

Participants waved Israeli flags, while others held images of some of the nearly 200 people held hostage in Gaza after terrorist group Hamas launched a cross-border assault on Israel on 7th October.

The March started at the Bridge of Remembrance at 3PM and was organsied by Destiny Child Christchurch Leader Derek Tait.

One of the protestors held an image of Omri Miran, 46, who was abducted after his family opened the door to their secure shelter.

Omri's wife, Lishay Lavi, said she saw him being taken away in handcuffs with three other hostages from the Nahal Oz kibbutz.
