Police name man fatally stabbed in Wycola Park, Hei Hei

Police have named the man who died in Hei Hei on Friday.

He was Anaru Thomas Williams, aged 27.

In a statement police said “our thoughts are with his whānau and loved ones at this difficult time.

“There will continue to be a Police presence in the area while investigations are underway.

Police were called to the carpark of the Wycola Park in Hei Hei around 1:50am on Friday where Williams was found already deceased with stab wounds.

 Another man aged 36 was taken into custody near the scene and appeared in court yesterday on an assault charge.
