Pedestrian seriously injured in Hornby crash

A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a crash in Hornby.

Emergency services were called to Springs Road at 4.43PM, after a person was struck by a car.

A St John spokesman said they dispatched an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle to the scene.

One person was assessed by the crew at the scene and was transported to Christchurch hospital in a serious condition the spokesman said.

A police spokesman said enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
