Multiple injured in serious crash in North Canterbury

Two people are dead and five have been injured in a serious crash in Sefton.

The multi-vehicle crash happened shortly after 10am on Main North Road.

A St John spokesman said one person is in a critical condition, another has serious injuries, and three have moderate injuries.

All have been taken to hospital.

State Highway 1 is closed between Wyllies Road and Broad Road.
