Emergency services at scene of crash in New Brighton
Emergency services are at the scene of a crash where a car has rolled in New Brighton.
A police spokeswoman said they were advised at 8.30pm that two cars collided near the intersection of Rookwood Avenue and Bower Avenue.
One of the cars rolled and a person was reported to be trapped in the car with moderate injuries.
Resident Emmzy Lamb said “one of the drivers didn't give way and went straight through the roundabout.
“I heard the bang and saw the car flip.”
Lamb said “that roundabout is so dangerous. Cars just don't seem to give way. I have seen a lot of accidents there and I have lived in the area 19 years.
People just don't bother to look. I just hope everyone was ok.”
A witness said police arrived first then firefighters then ambulances.
“They pulled a girl out of the tipped car.” The police spokeswoman said towing was being arranged for both cars.
