Emergency services at serious crash involving children

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash in Coalgate.

A police spokewoman said emergency services are responding to a crash at the intersection of Homebush Road and Malvern Hills Road reported around 10:55am.

Two helicopters have been dispatched to the scene.

One person in a critical condition and four in a serious condition the police spokeswoman said.

Chris Lynch Media understands two children are among the injured.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said 3 ambulances, two rapid response vehicles, two helicopters and one operations manager are at the scene.

“Multiple patients are being treated. More details will be available as they come to hand.”

Fire and Emergency crews are trying to cut four people out of two cars.
