Critical and serious injuries in Takaka Hill crash; road closed

Emergency services are at the scene of a two vehicle crash on Takaka Hill Highway, near Bates, and Canaan Roads, Takaka Hill.

The crash was reported around 12:10pm.

A police spokesperson said a person is in a critical condition and one person is in a serious condition.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised. 

The road is closed and will remain so for the next few hours while the road is cleared, and a scene examination is conducted.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and delay travel.
