North Canterbury highway at standstill

A crash involving a number of vehicles has closed a section of State Highway 1 in North Canterbury.

According to members of the public on the scene near Omihi, the crash involves up to three cars and a truck.

Several emergency vehicles are at the scene with a Westpac Rescue Helicopter en route to the incident.
