Confirmed: three major retailers in Northwood Super Centre to close

It’s now been confirmed that three major retailers at Christchurch’s Northwood Super Centre in Belfast will close.

Chris Lynch Media first reported on a “proposal” to close The Warehouse, Noel Leeming and Warehouse Stationery down.

Staff at the three stores were given just a week to provide feedback on the closure proposal.

The Warehouse Group Chief Store Operations Officer Ian Carter said “earlier this week, we confirmed with our teams at The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery and Noel Leeming in Belfast (Northwood Supa Centre) that the stores will close from 2 September, in line with the lease-end.

“We are committed to offering our Belfast team members roles at our stores nearby and are working with them to discuss their options and support them with this transition.

We have valued our time in Belfast and want to thank the community for shopping with us.”

68 workers were employed at The Warehouse, while Warehouse Stationery and Noel Leeming had around eight to ten and twelve employees, respectively.

Some employees at The Warehouse had dedicated over two decades to the store since its opening.
