Christchurch photographer captures Southern lights

A Christchurch photographer has captured the beautiful Southern Lights early this morning.

Jhek Castolone took the photos of the Aurora Australis at Lake Ellesmere at 3AM.

He said he saw the signs that it would be a good chance to photograph the lights and decided to head out after work.

Castolone said he only had a couple of minutes frame the shot.
