Three quakes felt across Christchurch
Three quakes have been widely felt by Christchurch residents this morning.
The latest was at 7:37 AM which was a magnitude 4.4 at a depth of 8 km, 10 km north-east of Christchurch.
Christchurch resident Michelle Mahanga said it was “rocking on Rocking Horse Road in South Shore.”
Pegasus resident Vicki Attrill said the latest one was “a bit louder and longer” than the other shake this morning.
Another quake was just six minutes earlier at 7:31 AM.
It was a magnitude 3.7 at a depth of 15 km, 10 km north-east of Christchurch.
Sarah Price said she felt both quakes in Sefton.
Overnight at 2.21AM, a 4.0 quake occurred which was centred 10 km north-east of Christchurch, at a depth of 9 kilometres.
Hundreds of residents reported feeling the shakes on the GeoNet website.
